Overview

城中站 (Newmarket) The Point Eatery sits comfortably in a modest plaza on Yonge Street, Newmarket, offering a refreshing take on Hong Kong-style fusion cuisine. From the moment you step in, the space welcomes you with a clean, bright, and cozy atmosphere—ideal for families, casual diners, and those seeking authentic cha chaan teng flavors far from the bustling city core.

The menu shines with classic Hong Kong café staples like baked rice dishes, stir-fried noodles, and rich comfort staples, all prepared with care and attention to traditional flavors. Notable highlights include the baked rice with chicken steak and cheese—a creamy, well-balanced dish that doesn’t rely on heavy seasoning—and the satay beef vermicelli, which balances savory spices with a satisfying texture. Stir-fried noodles, whether it’s the spaghetti with minced garlic or the fiery XO sauce beef rice noodles, show a deft hand in wok cooking, layering flavors without overwhelming the palate.

Beverages complement the meal perfectly. The signature Hong Kong-style iced milk tea, though slightly polarizing in texture, pairs exceptionally well with the food, as does the freshly made lemon tea and sodas with coconut jelly, offering a sweet and refreshing counterpoint.

Customer experiences highlight attentive and warm service, with staff quick to resolve any hiccups and keen to enhance the dining experience with thoughtful touches like complimentary drinks during lunch hours and special discounts. The eatery’s focus on authentic taste and hospitable service resonates especially well with locals and families looking for reliable, comforting meals that evoke the bustling cafés of Hong Kong.

In essence, 城中站 (Newmarket) The Point Eatery emerges not just as a restaurant, but as a neighborhood hub. It balances traditional flavors with a modern, clean environment—making it an inviting choice for anyone craving genuine Hong Kong-inspired fare in Newmarket.

Ordered takeout twice and dined in the restaurant once. I plan to keep coming back. It has the best baked rice out of the cha chan tangs in Aurora and Newmarket. I’ve tried the cheese spinach and tomato baked pork and would recommend both. When you order during lunch (11am-4pm, I think), the meal comes with a free drink. Service was welcoming and helpful. Cash gets an extra 10% off. The only thing that I missed here from other cha chan tangs was that soup that some cha chan tangs in the area give with the meal.

Delicious food. We had Stir-fry Udon Beef, Pork-chops in Tomato Sauce and cheese (Gluten free) and Oreo Lava. I asked them to make the Stir-fry a little spicy . So SO delicious. The service is lovely. We got seated as soon as we entered into the restaurant. The waiter and the cook both were very sweet.

This place is a fantastic Hong Kong-style fusion café with a clean, cozy vibe that makes you feel right at home. Their baked rice or spaghetti with crispy fried chicken and melted cheese is one of my all-time favorites. The satay beef vermicelli is also top notch definitely one of the best I’ve had. And don’t miss out on pairing your meal with their refreshing Hong Kong-style iced milk tea!

This was our first time going here and we are so happy that we found this place. It is in a tiny plaza but we didn't have any trouble finding parking. First impression is that it is super clean, inside and bright. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The menu had so many affordable and delicious options for me and my three kids and their drinks were half off which is part of their special after a certain hour, I think it was anytime after 4:00 p.m. As you can see by the pictures, everything looked amazing and more importantly everything tasted so delicious. My husband ordered his dish with rice but was accidentally given pasta. The staff were quick to bring his rice and after we notified them and also took it upon themselves to give us a discount due to the mistake which was really appreciated. I am very happy we stumbled upon this place and will definitely be coming back to try more of their dishes!

Been here twice in the last three weeks and all four plates we had were fantastic! Flavours feel very HK authentic. Pork Chop cutlet was juicy, tender and not oily/overly fatty at the same time. Baked rice with chicken steak and cheese was creamy, not overly salty and fried rice base was on point. Chicken steak with egg on rice was panned fried nicely and good dark meat and flavours. Iced lemon tea was solid as well! They do it a little differently here with the crushed ice. The only knock I have is their hot milk tea. Texture was too harsh and I feel like it was overstepped and not "smooth" enough, when there was plenty evaporated milk already. TLDR: great HK cafe especially in Newmarket! I haven't been to the Richmond hill location for many years but this place is my go to now, over my other favourites in the city!

Ordered the Baked Chicken with Spinach and Cheese Rice, and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was juicy and flavorful, baked with melted cheese that had the perfect balance of chewy and crispy. The rice came as a tasty fried rice, full of flavor and very satisfying. The food overall was excellent and offered at very reasonable prices. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Noticed they have solo tables for one, a thoughtful option for individual diners. The staff were friendly and efficient, providing great service that completed the experience. Highly recommended!

The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The waitress was courteous and attentive. Sever Michelle gave us excellent recommendations for our dining options. We tried the new Vietnamese pho and were pleasantly surprised by its authentic flavor and generous portions. The milk tea was rich and fragrant, and the iced lemon tea, with shaved ice instead of ice, was a brilliant touch.

Service is excellent. Staff is attentive, polite and helpful. Food quality is fine. Baked ox tongue with black pepper sauce and cheese - black pepper sauce too plain, also expected fried rice but we got plain rice only. Guilin rice noodle - overall is good. Pork cartilage is tasty. HK milk tea is good.
